Nickel Element Round

Nickel is a familiar element due to the American five cent coin, which is made of mostly copper. Pure nickel is only found in Earth’s crust in tiny amounts and in the interiors of larger nickel-iron meteorites that were not exposed to oxygen when outside the Earth’s atmosphere. An iron-nickel mixture is believed to compose Earth’s inner and outer cores. Nickel is mainly used for plating iron and brass, coating chemistry equipment and used in coins due to its corrosion resistance.
