Mammoth Hair

This specimen of mammoth hair dates back 19,551 years! Found near the Indigkra River in Russia, this tuft or hair is a small piece of history of the ancestors of the modern African Elephant.

Mammoths stood 10-12 feet at the shoulder and their hair provided protection from the cold. Each sample of mammoth hair comes in an acrylic jar and is housed in a glass-topped Riker box, measuring 4" x 3" x 1".

The coloring and texturing of each sample may vary as the hair has not been treated in any way.  An information card that serves as a certificate of authenticity is included with each sample.
