Erbium is a rare earth element that was originally found in Sweden. It is always found in a chemical combination with other elements and is silvery white in color. Erbium is used in certain laser applications such as laser surgery and in dental lasers. Erbium oxide can also be used as a colorant for glass or porcelain due to its pink coloring.
