Zirconium is grayish white in color and is solid at room temperature. It is highly resistant to corrosion but is highly flammable in powder form. It is mainly used as a refractory or opacifier but can be used in small amounts as an alloying agent because of its strong resistance to corrosion. Zirconium has no biological role.
