Discovered in Northwest Africa in 2017, this is classified as a lunar meteorite, which means that it was ejected from the Moon from an impact and was found on Earth.  Its official meteorical designation is Northwest Africa 11182 (NWA 11182).  Lunar meteorites are quite rare and account for less than 1% of all classified meteorites.

This meteorite is classified as a lunar achondrite.
