Most lunar meteorites recovered on Earth were blasted from the Moon by impacts that made craters a few miles in diameter or less.  This meteorite has been classified by scientists as Northwest Africa (NWA) 10253. Several pieces totaling 14.7 pounds were found in 2015 in Mauritania.

Each sample is mounted on an informational card in a plastic snap case.
