Description

The mass extinction of the dinosaurs is theorized to have occurred by the impact of the Chicxulub Asteroid and the flood basalts of the Indian Subcontinent known as Decann Traps.

This sample includes evidence from both major theories of the death of the dinosaurs. The first specimen originates from the Decann Traps within three distinct phases of the main eruption 66 million years ago. The second specimen is a mixture of the K-Pg Boundary Layer taken from across North America and Europe.

Specimens come in an encased acrylic jar within a glass topped Riker box. Each box measures .5” x 3.5” and contains a small information card for authenticity. Each sample will be unique dependent on the placement of materials within each sample.
