Description

The formation of our solar system is within this sample of the Allende Meteorite.  Authentic dust from this meteorite that landed on Earth in 1969 appears in each sample.

With the solar system dating over 4.6 billion years ago, meteorites contain information about how planets and the worlds within them were created.

The Allende Meteorite exploded over northern Mexico in 1969 and contains extraterrestrial proteins, which was one of the first discoveries of its kind.

Each sample is a handcrafted resin circle of dust collected from the Allende Meteorite and is prepared with a slight glimmer to signify the heat and light that created our solar system. Samples vary in placement and texture and are enclosed in a glass-topped Riker box measuring 4.5” x 3.5”, which also includes an information card.
