Description

Having flown into space as part of the notorious Apollo 13 Odyssey, this piece of command model foil has proven to be out of this world.

Apollo 13 Odyssey launched in April 1970 and was the seventh crewed mission to launch to the moon. While never landing on the moon, Apollo 13 orbited the moon and returned safely to Earth.

This fragment of Kapton foil helped provide thermal protection for astronauts Jim Lovell and his crew.

Each sample measures approximately 1mm x 1mm and is enclosed in an acrylic cube casing with magnification for easy viewing. A glass topped Riker box measuring 5.5” x 6.5” holds the acrylic cube for safe keeping. An information card with images of Apollo 13 serves as a certificate of authentication.
